Yes, what 'they' say is true, once a couple has children the date nights become few and far between - unfortunately. But we all know we wouldn't give up those little munchkins just to have more date nights. With that said, I do still like to be prepared to make a date night goes as smoothly as possible. So I thought it would be fun to share my Date Night Essentials kit with y'all. I have been able to find all the items mentioned at my local friendly WalMart! And don't let the cutesy leopard bag scare you. This kit can be assembled in any ole bag ya got - or even a plastic sandwich bag ;)

1. With cold and flu season in full swing, it's important to take precautions and have a little Emergen-C on hand for when you get that "I think I caught what Johnny brought home from school" feeling. And you don't want to have to cut a date night short, so just carry a few of the convenient little packets around in your essentials kit - mix with a little water and you'll be good to go. I like the Tangerine flavor but don't worry because with over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you're looking for!

2. I always make sure I'm carrying a lipstick for those on-the-go touchups. A nude shade is always great because some of them can be easily applied without a mirror.

3. Us moms know that a headache can strike at any time and a date night is definitely a time when you want to be prepared with some sort of pain reliever. Advil has been our go-to OTC pain medication for as long as I can remember. Nothing's stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers). And Advil makes these convenient little travel vials that can usually be found in the travel section of WalMart. Such a great size to throw in your purse - or Date Night Essentials kit!

4. Who doesn't need a tissue every now and then?! Whether it's for wiping away the tears while seeing a sappy movie at the theater or disposing of your gum before that long awaited kiss ;)

5. Speaking of kissing - lipgloss! I love to keep a neutral color in my purse at all times so that it'll pair nicely with whatever lipstick shade I've chosen for the day (or date night!).

6. For those times when I just want a little something on my lips, but no color, I like ChapStick Total Hydration. I have the Coconut flavor but they have several others to choose from. With Omega 6 & 9, the advanced nourishing formula, with argan oil, avocado butter, and rosehip oil, visibly renews lips and instantly smoothes and moisturizes. This is the perfect lip balm for those casual trips to the grocery store - or a date night!

7. To pair well with any lipstick that I'm wearing, I like to include a nude toned lip liner in my Date Night Essentials kit also. The one I'm currently using is the exact shade of my lips. That way incase my lipstick starts to bleed outside of my lip line, I can quickly wipe away the lipstick and correct the problem with the lip liner.

8. And last but not least, a pack of gum! Although we've been married for a few years now, it's still nice to end the date with a 'Good Night' kiss - even though we're home together after the date ;)

I hope this helped give you a look into how I prepare for a Date Night with the hubby. What are some of the things that you include in your Date Night Essentials kit? Do you stuff yours in a plastic sandwich bag? Or do you use a fancy designer leather pouch? Please leave a comment below, or tag your response on social media with #BeHealthyForEveryPartOfLife, sharing what you think are some must-need products for date night survival.

  1. Great list! I actually have all those things in bag right now. Not only date-night goodies but all the time for Momma's on the run. My biggest for date night are lip gloss, meds for pain cause you don't want to ruin date night, and cash for he valet. Never fails we have no cash and have to give tips everywhere.
