Yes, what 'they' say is true, once a couple has children the date nights become few and far between - unfortunately. But we all know we wouldn't give up those little munchkins just to have more date nights. With that said, I do still like to be prepared to make a date night goes as smoothly as possible. So I thought it would be fun to share my Date Night Essentials kit with y'all. I have been able to find all the items mentioned at my local friendly WalMart! And don't let the cutesy leopard bag scare you. This kit can be assembled in any ole bag ya got - or even a plastic sandwich bag ;)

July Color of the Month - Carnival Red

Each month, features a Color of the Month on their website. They spotlight different shades of a particular paint color in many different decorating styles. It's a great way to get inspiration if you were wanting to use a certain color but didn't know which direction to run with it to satisfy your taste. Well with summer being just around the corner, the color for July is Carnival Red. I mean just the name of it makes me think of fresh strawberries and tomatoes, a cherry snow cone, or a pop of red lips to top off your look for a night out.

I didn't want to focus on just home decor and paint colors of that hue since HGTV pretty much has that covered. So I thought 'why not have a mix of beauty, craft, food, and clothing items each month that all have a common color theme?' So here it is...the LaO blog's first installment of Color of the Month. I'm going to follow the lead of HGTV for this one with Carnival Red since it's such a gorgeous color and I found so many lovely things to share. Please keep scrolling to enjoy the red good-ness that is about to ensue...

Liebster Award Nomination

So the lovely Claire of Girl on a Missi0n blog has nominated me for a Liebster Award! This definitely gave me a confidence boost in the work I've been doing on the blog. I've only been at it a few months on a regular schedule so I was pleasantly surprised when I received Claire's message on FB.

The Liebster Award is an award that's passed around the blogger community to recognize and encourage newbie, up-and-coming bloggers that only have a small following. The premise behind the 'award' is for each nominee to:
(1) answer 11 questions by the blogger that nominates them
(2) add 11 other facts about his or her self
(3) nominate a few of their own favorite newbies and
(4) give them 11 new questions to answer {or steal from their neighbors ;) }

Trash Talkin' - My Current Empties

No, I don't normally share the contents of my trashcan with all of the internet. But this one is important, it's the bathroom trashcan which means you get to see what I've used up recently. And yes, I do have a separate trashcan for snotty tissues and those gross hairballs that I pull out of my hairbrush, so you won't be subjected to that horrific sight on this blog post.

{Review} Radha Skincare

So I've been using a new skincare system for a few weeks now and I'm really excited to share it with y'all. I was a little bit skeptical because they are from a brand that I've never heard of but, on the plus side, they're actually very affordable. The brand is Radha Beauty and they concentrate most of their business on Amazon.

Pure & Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask

So has anyone ever tried a mud mask before? I have never tried one, although I have tried different varieties of facial masks. I was always a little scared of mud masks because I've only ever heard of mud masks working well for those with acne or oily skin, which I don't have. So when I was sent the Pure & Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask, I was a bit apprehensive to try it in fear of it really drying out my skin or aggravating my rosacea. Well let me tell you...I found a new way to pamper myself! {Yay for mommy time! Lol}

{Giveaway} What's Your Nighttime Routine?

What does your nighttime routine consist of? Are you a bare-minimum just brush your teeth, skip washing your face, and hit the pillow type of person? Or do you go all out with a full cleanse, tone, and anti-aging/moisturizing along with a 30-minute dental routine and a relaxing yoga session? I like to think I'm somewhere in the middle but I'd like to get better about my nighttime skincare regimen. By the time I'm in the bathroom and beginning my nighttime routine, I've cleaned up the kitchen, gotten the little one into bed and I'm ready to hit the pillow myself.

{Nail of the Moment} Pop-arazzi and Maybelline

On a recent trip to the drugstore I was perusing through the makeup section when I came upon a brightly colored end-cap full of any color of nail polish you could dream of. The brand is Pop-arazzi and they may only be sold at CVS. I haven't seen them anywhere else but I do love the fact that they are very affordable. They're price point is in line with Sinful Colors, around the $2 range. I was looking for a light pink since spring is on the way, so I picked the color Sugar Spun (#990025). It's an opaque creamy pink that goes on like a dream with just 2 thin coats. The other plus about this brand is the brush, it is quite wide and allows you to cover almost your entire nail in one quick swipe.
